But that also means we won’t settle for anything less than perfect when it comes to how our slippers look and keeping them clean. We get it though, knowing how to clean fluffy slippers so you don’t ruin them can be daunting.

Don’t worry, cleaning fur-lined slippers and super fluffy styles is no issue when you have the EGO know-how. Let’s start with just your everyday dirt and grime. Wipe down the soles of your slippers with a damp cloth or baby wipes to remove any loose mud or grit if your snuggly slippers have been worn outside at any point.

Then make sure the top of your slippers is dry and simply brush all over to lift away any dry dirt and restore the natural pile of the faux suede or faux fur. You could use a specifically designed suede brush for this, but a clean nail brush or toothbrush works just as well!

Deep cleaning fur-lined slippers

When a good brush and wipe just won’t cut it, you’re going to need a little more effort to tackle cleaning your fluffy slippers. Let’s just say you have chosen a cute pair of fur-lined faux suede slippers and they are totally caked in mud (question: where HAVE you been!?), then rubbing alcohol is your new bestie.

Spray a small amount of the alcohol onto the soiled area, and gently rub it with a new, clean cloth. Go carefully though, you don’t need too much. Blot stubborn stains if necessary and use a clean section of cloth for each soiled area. Allow your slippers to dry completely before popping your feet back inside. In fact, we recommend stuffing with paper towels or scrunched-up newspaper to ensure your fluffy slippers retain their shape while drying.

Keep your fluffy slippers smelling fresh

As snuggly as it is, the faux fur lining inside fluffy slippers can become a bit smelly over time, especially if you get them wet occasionally or wear them without socks. This is when year eight food tech faithful bicarbonate of soda makes its entrance. It is THE most cost-effective and natural way to remove nasty smells. Simply sprinkle dry bicarb inside your trusty slippers and shake it around to make sure it reaches all areas of the inner sole. Leave overnight, then shake out any loose powder in the morning, set your vacuum to a gentle suction, and use the nozzle to remove any remaining powder. Genius.

Cleaning fluffy slippers isn’t as hard as you think

Fluffy slippers are such a luxe treat for your feet but they can become dirty pretty quick, especially if you wear them every day. With our simple steps above, you can make sure your fluffy slippers look their best at all times.
