The Best Christmas Songs for Your Spotify Playlist

Ever since the clock struck midnight on the 1st December, we’ve been going all-out Christmas. From eating mince pies for breakfast, lunch and dinner to swapping our usual prosecco to mulled wine - when it comes to Christmas, all the rules go out of the window. But there’s one thing we often forget about - our Spotify playlists. Even though we’ve had ‘Thank U, Next’ on repeat since it was released, it’s finally time to switch up our playlists and get those Christmas songs blasting at every given opportunity. From the classics to the not-so-classic - these are the Christmas songs you need on your playlist this year.

The Top 10 Christmas Songs for Your Spotify Playlist

All I Want for Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

Predictable, yes - but no Christmas playlist is complete without it. You know what they say - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Last Christmas - Wham!

If this song doesn’t make you think about your ex then you’re pretty lucky tbh. Although it’s become a true Christmas classic, the song technically isn’t even about Christmas - it’s about a break up around the festive season. Nevertheless, we’re shovin’ it right at the top of our Spotify playlist.

Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson

Released in 2013, Kelly Clarkson’s Underneath the Tree featured on her first Christmas Album, Wrapped in Red. It’s a bit like the budget version of All I Want for Christmas, but it still makes it onto our Christmas playlist this year.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy Williams

It IS the most wonderful time of the year, amirite? Honestly, no Christmas playlist would be complete without an appearance from this song. If you’re ever having a bad day in the lead up to Christmas, this song is guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Trust us.

Hark! The Herald Angel Sing - Busted

Rouge, but trust us on this one. If you’re not a huge fan of traditional Christmas songs, then this one’s for you. Our favourite childhood boyband, Busted, released this Christmas song back in 2003 and, tbh, we’re still low-key obsessed with it.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Michael Bublé

You didn’t think we’d create a Christmas playlist without Bublé, did you? A true Christmas classic, It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. However, since Bublé announced that he was retiring from music earlier this year, this song has made us feel just a lil’ bit sad. Come back, Michael - Christmas needs you.

Winter Things - Ariana Grande

Oh, Ari, do love you. Honestly, could this gal get any better? Her Christmas tune, Winter Things just makes us love her a lil’ bit more. Released in 2016 on her Dangerous Woman album, we reckon this song is gonna become a huge hit in years to come. Thank U, Next!

Mistletoe - Justin Bieber

After hearing Bieber’s Christmas song, Drummer Boy, we were reluctant to include him in a Christmas playlist at all. However, there’s no denying that Mistletoe is a pretty catchy tune.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Sam Smith

A remake of the classic, Sam Smith’s version of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas has been giving us all the Christmas feels this December.

Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town - Frank Sinatra

Name a more iconic Christmas song. We’ll wait.
